   Grain and Soy Markets Sag Ahead of the New Year

   Grain and soybean markets fell in unison Monday as non-threatening weather
in South America and some positive developments with the Russia-Ukraine peace
talks added a bearish tone. Also, China paraded war ships around Taiwan as a
show of strength, which may have contributed to weakness.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   March corn closed down 7 3/4 cents per bushel at $4.42 1/4 and May closed
down 7 1/2 cents per bushel at $4.50 3/4 and January soybeans closed down 9 1/4
cents at $10.49 1/2 and March soybeans were down 9 cents at $10.63 1/2. March
KC wheat closed down 6 1/4 cents at $5.27 1/4, March Chicago wheat was down 6
cents at $5.13 and MIAX March Minneapolis wheat was steady at $5.7925.
